My research interest focuses on deformable image registration and image segmentation for radiation treatment planning and image-guided adaptive radiotherapy. I am also interested in radiation treatment related geometric and dosimetric uncertainties, texture features for radiation treatment outcome modeling and prediction (Radiomics), and novel imaging methodologies and applications in radiotherapy. Students working with me will expect to become familiar with radiation treatment planning systems and gain knowledge on fundamental image processing techniques, image-guided radiotherapy, and computer programming skills. Below are two examples of my current projects:
- Develop automatic segmentation tool to be used in treatment planning system for normal structure delineation. Such a tool has a great impact in radiotherapy because it can save time and labor in delineating normal structures for treatment planning. In addition, computer-aided automatic segmentation may improve contouring consistency thus creating more accurate and objective standardized contours.
- 开发特定于患者的方法来评估适用于适应性放射疗法的可变形图像配准的不确定性。几何和剂量学不确定性都进行了研究,以促进安全适应的安全临床决定。
