The Houston Food Bank is a valued collaborator with UT Physicians, the clinical practice of McGovern Medical School at UTHealth. Together, we have teamed up over the years to provide no-cost health care screenings and food at events across Greater Houston to benefit the community.

从现在到12月20日,UT Physicians will be collecting nonperishable food items at locations across the city for the Houston Food Bank. Donation boxes will be available in the lobby area of UT Physicians clinics and all community members are welcome to make a contribution.

“The need is huge in our community to provide for those less fortunate," said Andrew Casas, chief operating officer of UT Physicians. "We want to be part of a meaningful drive to help put food on the table for the holidays. It's our mission to not only provide improved access to health care, but also join community efforts to support people in other ways."

The most needed items by the Houston Food Bank include:

  • Peanut Butter
  • Crackers
  • Canned tuna
  • Canned fruit (in juice or water)
  • Canned vegetables (no salt added)
  • Canned beans
  • Cereal
  • Canned soup
